With unprecedented growth in programs and services, the GCNK African American Chamber sought an expansion to a larger, more modern facility. By renovating two floors (12,000 SF) of an existing building on Gilbert Avenue, the new headquarters for the Greater Cincinnati African American Chamber of Commerce was established. The new facility features a lobby/reception area, open office area, individual offices, conference rooms, kitchenette, large group spaces and an outdoor patio. The expanded space was needed to accommodate the Chamber’s rapid growth in programs and services for its members. With the new space, the Chamber is able to offer more on-site training and workshops, as well as provide WiFi and virtual office space for members.
Megen served as the general contractor, ensuring the project was completed on budget, on schedule and with quality workmanship. Despite cost challenges and unforeseen conditions, our creative value engineering efforts kept the project on budget and on schedule. The new facility has allowed the African American Chamber to better provide its 120 programs, helping local entrepreneurs accomplish their goals.
