The construction of Crossroads Church’s fourth campus, West Side location, entailed the renovation of a former middle school into a modern multi-use facility to serve Crossroads’ interdenominational church community. The 72,000 SF renovation features two auditoriums (totaling 700 seats), advanced audiovisual technology, Kids’ Club area encompassing 13 rooms, administrative area, and an open atrium vestibule for fellowship. High-grade finishes, updated electrical systems, new fire suppression and cooling systems, and a new landscape/canopy entrance were also included.
As design+builder, Megen was responsible for coordinating all facets of the project, including design coordination, establishment of the overall project schedule, cost control, safety management and coordination with the Church and end user personnel. This fast-track project had a specific opening day (Easter Sunday), which was crucial for an effective launch of this new location. Careful logistics, an expeditious subcontractor onboarding process, and a reverse phase scheduling process was utilized to meet critical schedule deadlines. Megen also engaged the Crossroads team throughout the process to better understand site conditions, cost changes, and coordination of owner items. The modern West Side campus was open on schedule, creating a welcoming environment for the West Cincinnati community.
