This multi-building soccer complex was designed and constructed to be a world-class team training complex for FC Cincinnati. Serving as the daily home for FC Cincinnati players and coaches, this top-tier comprehensive training center allows a seamless transition between preparation, training, and recovery.
Construction included three full-size, lighted soccer fields (two grass, one artificial turf), as well as a goalkeeper-specific training area, and multiple facilities. The MLS team is housed in a 30,000 SF, multi-level building abutting the fields, while the FCC Academy teams have a separate 6,500 SF center along the practice fields. Features of the facilities include team and coaches/staff locker rooms, athletic training and sports performance rooms, player lounge and dining facility, equipment and laundry rooms, team meeting rooms, reception area, media workspace, and offices. Additionally, there is a 3,000 SF grounds/maintenance facility. The facilities many amenities will allow the team to be self-sufficient, providing spaces for the training, recovery, and relaxation of the players, as well as an efficient office and workspace for team coaches and staff.
Megen served as part of the construction management team, providing on-site coordination, safety management and project engineering. Despite the project’s fast-track schedule, our project team was able to achieve full occupancy one day ahead of schedule. Additionally, the project came in under budget. This new, state-of-the-art facility has enabled FC Cincinnati to compete at the highest level of professional soccer, and recruit and retain top talent from the U.S. and around the world.
