The conversion of a former hospital building into a state-of-the-art K-8 educational facility for the growing charter school, Phoenix Community Learning Center. The existing four-story structure was gutted with the exception of exterior walls and concrete floor/column core structural components. The shell base was programmed to accommodate classrooms, science labs, assembly area, staff lounge, kindergarten suite, administrative offices and required support areas and circulation axis and modes.
As Construction Manager, Megen’s scope of work included: demolition, MEP systems upgrades, new PA and sound systems, new security systems, new computer network, new restrooms, new elevator, new roof, ADA upgrades, refurbished exterior masonry finish, and overall site improvements for vehicular and pedestrian access.
Megen also completed an Encore project for the school in 2017, which was the renovation of the lower level of the building into a High School for 9th and 10th grades
