The interior/exterior renovation included selective demolition, the implementation of an exterior storefront face lift, loading dock, newly paved parking lot, EPDM membrane roofing system, new drywall and metal studs, elevator, VCT flooring, employee bathrooms, deli, meat prep area, produce prep area as well as new furnishings (freezer, refrigerated coolers, shelving, display units, checkout counters and customer service station).
As Construction Manager, Megen Construction was responsible for all facets of the project including schedule, quality control, safety management and owner coordination. Megen led in the effort of minimizing the store’s shut down time, all of the above mentioned construction was successfully implemented within a sixweek working schedule, utilizing two 8-hour shifts per day.
The project had tremendous diversity among its contractors. Megen, along with other team members, totaled 11 contracts (more than 60% of the total number of contracts) with minority-owned or women-owned companies.
