Superintendent
Overview
The Superintendent is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and execution of all field activities on assigned construction projects. This role leads day-to-day jobsite operations, manages subcontractors and trade partners, enforces safety and quality standards, and ensures the project schedule is executed efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities
- Examine the construction documents and uncover violations, drawing deficiencies, and bring them to the attention of the Architect or the Engineer.
- Provide job set up and site logistics for the projects assigned.
- Slip Sheeting.
- Participate in project pursuits and attend presentations.
- Includes all previously established roles and responsibilities for an Assistant Superintendent.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships among onsite staff and all Subcontractors.
- Become thoroughly familiar with the construction documents so that they may provide required interpretations to the Subcontractors.
- Ensure that a project safety program is established and implemented using current corporate guidelines.
- Assist in examining the construction documents and uncover violations, drawing deficiencies, and bring them to the attention of the Architect or the Engineer.
- Work with project team to establish and maintain overall construction schedule.
- Assist set up and site logistics for the projects assigned.
- Verify that every subcontractor has completed all contractual requirements and submittals as a condition for starting any work onsite.
- Document all activities on the site using the daily construction report via Procore.
- Coordinate the activities of all inspection agencies and make remedial actions as necessary following each report.
- Prepare and run all field related meetings including safety meetings and weekly job coordination meetings.
- Provide and or cause to happen a look-ahead schedule for the project team.
- Assist the Project Manager with monthly billings and verification of percent complete.
- Assist the accounting department by submitting and coding invoices and receipts.
- Perform additional duties as may be directed by the senior supervisors.
- Track and document all safety reporting including JSA, contractor toolbox talk, etc.
- Cost tracking including general conditions, T&Ms, etc..
- Manage the as-builts process.
- Other duties as required by your supervisor.
