The renovation of 150 apartment units and common areas, parking lot expansion and the addition of a 1,200 SF maintenance shop for the Salvation Army’s Booth Residence assisted living facility, which houses 165 seniors and adults with physical and mental disabilities. Apartment renovation work included the remodeling of 26-year old kitchens and bathrooms for each of the 150 units, without relocating the residents.

Megen served as Construction Manager on the project, responsible for project coordination, scheduling, cost control, owner communication and occupant safety. Megen developed cost estimates and an efficient schedule to coordinate plumbing, electrical and carpentry contractors, working in the bathroom and kitchen areas at different times. Over the 8-month project, two units were renovated at a time, and each apartment took five days to complete. Through Megen’s effective sequencing, all residents were able to sleep in their rooms every day over the entire eight month project.
