Macy’s, Inc., one of America’s premier national retailers, selected Megen to manage the renovation of its Cincinnati headquarters, home to approximately 750 associates in 26 different departments. This 233,000 SF office renovation included selective demolition, asbestos abatement, MEP/FP alterations, and new interior finishes of eleven floors in an occupied 21-story building in downtown Cincinnati. Over two and a half years, eleven floors of occupied office space were completely transformed through seven phases of construction including substantial updates to electrical, voice and data communications systems.

As  construction manager, we led all facets of the project including design coordination, schedule management, construction oversight, cost control and safety, to ensure the overall schedule and budget were met. With multiple phases and constant changes in areas under construction, our team’s strategic signage was a critical component to keep building occupants safe and prevent them from entering work zones. The project was divided into seven phases, and we completed each phase on the exact date scheduled. Furthermore, the only cost increase on the project was due to Macy’s adding an additional floor of renovation to our scope of work.

“The remodeling project was structured in seven phases. Above all, it was absolutely crucial that every one of the project’s seven phases begin and end right on schedule. We relied upon Megen to finish every phase on the exact date scheduled, and they delivered every time.”
