This 25-year-old public charter school needed to expand its high school facility to accommodate its growing STEM program. This expansion aims to provide modern and enhanced spaces, fostering an environment conducive to student success.

The two-story, addition consists of seven classrooms and chemistry and biology labs with fume hoods, lab stations, epoxy tops, and student stations. Additionally, a new 2,200-SF commons area, serving as both a cafeteria and rentable community space, is being built. The addition construction features a metal siding exterior for the classrooms and a storefront exterior with open, high ceilings in the commons area. The project also includes renovations of existing spaces into office areas, reception, restroom, intervention room, and servery (mini-kitchen).

As construction manager, Megen provides preconstruction and construction services. Working within the confines of an occupied K-12 campus in downtown Cincinnati, our team has meticulously developed a logistics plan to ensure a safe and secure project site. Construction is progressing as planned, with an expected completion in spring 2024.

Our project team has enjoyed not only constructing, but also becoming a part of the school community. We actively engaged in CCPA events including Adulting 101 and Back-to-School, and organized project events like the topping out ceremony. Our goal is to build not only a stellar facility, but a stronger community.
