Senior Project Manager – Megen Works

Overview

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and growing the company’s self-perform division while overseeing the successful execution of small in-house projects. This role combines strategic leadership, hands-on project management, team development, and operational oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the self-perform division, setting operational standards, workflows, and performance expectations.
  • Develop strategies to improve productivity, cost control, and profit for Megen Works.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align division goals with company objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand self-perform capabilities and improve internal efficiencies.
  • Oversee planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of small in-house projects.
  • Directly manage or support project managers, superintendents, and field leads on self-performed scopes.
  • Review and manage contracts, scopes of work, estimates, and change orders.
  • Assign workloads, prioritize projects, and balance team capacity.
  • Mentor and develop team members to improve technical and leadership skills.
  • Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Conduct jobsite reviews and audits as needed.
  • Resolve field issues, conflicts, and schedule challenges proactively.
  • Promote and manage a strong safety culture across all self-performed and in-house projects.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on small projects.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Address client concerns and ensure high levels of satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

Hard Skills

  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and job cost control

Soft Skills

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • 8 – 12 years of construction project management experience
  • Proven experience managing self-performance work and small project teams
