This multi-phased construction project of the Live Oaks Career Campus, serving Clermont County and the eastern portion of the Great Oaks school districts, is focused on the community’s career-technical education needs of the future. The two-story facility, built in the 1970s and one of the first constructed following Great Oaks’ founding, will have a series of updates.
The first phase of improvements includes a nearly 189,000 SF interior renovation and a new 7,500 SF entry addition with site improvements and an exterior refresh. Renovations include reconfiguration of the entry drive and parking/drop-off areas to provide better traffic flow and creation of a second entrance to the campus. Mezzanines will be removed, and academic classes will be clustered on the second floor with career labs located adjacent to each other for future planning. New classrooms and spaces for soft labs, high bay areas, student support, intervention, locker rooms, media center and cafeteria will be constructed from previously under-used space. The second floor will overlook an open commons area, grand staircase, and breakout rooms off the main core for student gathering and collaboration. The new addition will feature an entry lobby, controlled access to reception, separate access for adult education, and additional space for administration and adult education. The second phase of the project entails construction of a 8,463 SF pre-engineered metal building to provide classroom space for the school’s heavy equipment operations program.
Megen, in conjunction with our partner, is providing preconstruction and construction management at risk services. The campus will remain occupied during the project with phased construction being utilized to maintain occupancy. Construction is tracking on schedule for spring 2024 completion. Our team also completed the $37M expansion and renovation of the Laurel Oaks Career Campus in 2021.
