YWCA

This was an extremely difficult renovation of an existing 45,000 s.f. headquarters for YWCA. All the elements of a difficult renovation were very evident in this project. It was in a downtown setting, making it challenging to pick up and deliver material, as well as waste handling. The existing building had to be environmentally cleaned prior to the start of construction. The space was occupied during construction, so care had to be taken not to interrupt the owner's operation. Dust and noise issues had to be effectively addressed. There were virtually no staging areas or onsite storage of materials. Materials had to be coordinated to arrive at the time of their scheduled installation. The building is very old and presented us with many unforeseen circumstances, despite these obstacles, the project was successfully completed on schedule and within budget.
