Tyler-Davidson Fountain
Restoration
or perhaps the rebirth of Cincinnati's most recognizable symbol - The
Historic Tyler Davidson Fountain, winner of Cincinnati Preservation
Association award and Finalist in the 2000 Build Ohio Award. As the
General Contractor, Megen coordinated the enormous effort of disassembling,
construction of the new infrastructure and re-assembly. All this work
was accomplished without the benefit of existing drawings that would
have shed some light on how the fountain was put together. Construction
was done under the watchful eyes of the public, through the greenhouse
specifically constructed for this purpose.
Based on
the fact that no other contractor had ever managed a project such as
this, every move had to be perused, analyzed and deeply thought out
before any action could be taken. What a pressure, but also what a pleasure.
The project was completed on time and within budget.
